Professional Experience

I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Minnesota. I have provided individual and group therapy and crisis intervention services in private practice, university counseling centers, community mental health centers, and hospitals. In these settings, I have worked with people struggling with a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, self-injury, transition and adjustment concerns, identity issues, and histories of trauma.

Broadly speaking, I specialize in working with individuals who have been wanting to make changes in their lives for some time, but have been feeling stuck – emotionally, cognitively, or otherwise. It sounds neither elegant, nor profound, but if you’ve been stuck, you know that untangling yourself from a web of entrenched patterns of thoughts, feelings, and/or behaviors can be daunting. I can help.

Education

I completed a master’s degree in counseling at the University of Denver in 2004 and a doctorate in counseling psychology at the University of Minnesota in 2010. My bachelor’s degree is in physics, from the University of Wisconsin. I appreciate both the art and science of psychotherapy.
